Mobile Guide
On a bike or by foot, follow our multimedia sat nav on fascinating tourist routes that combine the glorious history of Aquileia and the wild nature of the area.
Towards a total integration of virtual and actual experience, the tourists who visit Aquileia will be able to do so guided by a bespoke multimedia sat nav that will not only guide them through the most interesting archeological sites, but will also enrich their experience with specific multimedia highlights available for each location.
The sat nav device will give directions both visually on the screen and on the blue-tooth headphones. Its touch screen system makes it extremely easy to choose amongst the many themed routes accessible. Moreover, thanks to its built-in GPS, when in front of a point of interest, the sat nav will automatically start a multimedia presentation with the place’s highlights.
One further interesting feauture is a fascinating ‘augmented reality’ function: pointing the device’s camera at the object, on screen there will appear a tag with its name or even the 3D computer-generated reconstruction of the object as it used to look like in Roman times over the image of the object as it is now.
On the top of the sat nav system, all across the archeological sites (in particular in the Cathedral, in the museums and in all the other guarded areas) there will be some ‘infopoint’ stands, that are touch-screen devices that will provide more in-depth information on the site.
